Install Debian 13 on your VPS

1. What is Debian 13?​

Debian 13 is the latest major version of the Debian Linux distribution. This procedure describes how to reinstall Debian 13 from the ElypseCloud management interface.

Warning

This procedure involves complete formatting of your VPS. All data present on the disk will be permanently deleted.

Backup your important files before proceeding.

2. Prerequisites​

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Access to your ElypseCloud client area
  • Backup of your important data (if applicable)
  • New root password in mind (or use the automatically generated one)

Installation steps​

Step 1: Access your service​

  1. Log in to your ElypseCloud client area.
  2. Click on the "My Services" or "Services" section.
  3. Select the VPS on which you want to install Debian 13.

Step 2: Access the reinstall menu​

  1. On your product management page (Enduser), look for server management options.
  2. Find the button or tab named "Reinstall" (or "Reinstall" / "OS Reinstall").
  3. Click it to open the operating system selection menu.

Step 3: Select Debian 13​

  1. In the list of available operating systems (OS Images), find the Debian distribution.
  2. In the dropdown menu or list of versions, select Debian 13.
  3. Set your root password (or note the one that will be automatically generated).

Step 4: Start the installation​

  1. Click the confirmation button "Reinstall" or "Reinstall".
  2. Confirm the action if a warning window appears (confirming data loss).
  3. The installation will start automatically. The process may take a few minutes.

Step 5: Verify access​

Once the server status has returned to "Online" (Online), connect to your VPS via SSH.

You will need:

  • Your VPS IP address
  • The root password set in step 3

If the connection is successful, you are on Debian 13!
